Every child deserves their chance at a quality Catholic education. Donors who give to Empower Illinois receive a 75% tax credit for the amount of their gift. In addition, any portion of the tax credit may be carried forward for up to five years.
Of the $100 million cap, an estimated $61 million was raised in 2018. According to an article in the Peoria Journal Star, “Pritzker has suggested lowering the cap to $50 million and slowly shutting the program down in the next three years.” Let’s do our part to increase donations in 2019 to show our support of this great benefit for both the donor and school families in need.
