Who Are the Ladies of Columbus?

The Ladies of Columbus is an auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. We are a social and charitable organization that assists in promoting the activities of the Knights of Columbus.

The Ladies of Columbus stand for

  • The rights of the unborn
  • Support of the community, the handicapped, and our youth

The Ladies and Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Parish are active in sponsoring many church, community, family, youth and council activities throughout the year. Supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life is a top priority of the Knights of Columbus.

  • Seminarian Sponsorship
  • Support of the Alzheimer's Association
  • Fund Raising for the mentally retarded and learning disabled
  • Support for the annual St. Joseph Bazaar
  • Memorial for our deceased Brothers and Sisters
  • Spaghetti dinners to benefit various charitable groups
  • Bingo and Lenten Fish Fries
  • Clergy and Seminarians Christmas party
  • Children's Christmas party

How To Become a Lady of Columbus

Membership in the Ladies of Columbus is open to all Christian women age 18 and older who are committed to supporting the objectives for which we stand.

You can obtain an application to join us from any officer or current member. Dues are just $5.00 per year.

The Ladies of Columbus hold a business meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 715 N. Eleventh St, Pekin.

  • Established in 1957 and re-established in 2002
  • Over 50 current members
  • Winner of Third Place Award for 2002/2003 State of Illinois L of C "Auxiliary of the Year"
  • Raised over $700 for the Alzheimer's Association in 2002
  • Assisted Council with Tootsie Roll drive for the mentally retarded and learning disabled and raised over $12,000
  • Assembled and donated a Thanksgiving Basket for St. Joseph Bazaar that raised $102
